CEO of McLaren Zak Brown has stated that he is “nervous” that Red Bull would reduce the Woking-based team’s edge.
Ahead of Sunday’s United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, the British team leads Red Bull by almost 39 points in the F1 constructors’ title.
Since the conclusion of the summer break, McLaren has won three of the last four races, demonstrating their outstanding run of success.
Max Verstappen and Lando Norris are vying for the drivers’ championship, but the Dutchman has a commanding lead of 54 points over the British driver after winning the Austin sprint.
With the MCL38 operating on all kinds of circuits, McLaren has emerged as the team to beat since the summer break.
But Brown said he has a mindset that looks back at the competition when asked if the group is enjoying its run.
“Depending on people’s personalities, I think it’s probably a mix of both,” Brown said to reporters, including RacingNews365.

But Brown said he has a mindset that looks back at the competition when asked if the group is enjoying its run.
“So, a good dose of both probably gets everyone out of bed every day and highly motivated to keep making these tiny, incremental improvements.”
