Despite being the backup quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, quarterback Arch Manning is the topic of collegiate football. Manning isn’t a full-time starter yet, but he’s already creating talk as a quarterback prospect in the NFL. Despite his last name, Manning will be given the benefit of the doubt until he proves differently, even though he still has a lot to prove. The quarterback is the nephew of NFL greats Eli and Peyton Manning and the son of Cooper Manning. Since Manning won’t be able to enter the NFL draft until 2026, his possible destinations in the NFL are a little more tricky. Thus, Manning doesn’t make much sense for teams looking to select a signal-caller in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Athlon recently brought up the New York Jets as a possible destination for Manning, who would take Aaron Rodgers’ place. Luke Easterling of Athlon Sports listed a few more landing places for Manning.
Manning and Sean McVay, the offensive mastermind of the Los Angeles Rams, may be an intriguing combination. Matthew Stafford, the former quarterback who won a Super Bowl, has a four-year, $160 million contract that is set to expire in 2026 season.
Stafford’s contract does include an out for the Rams following the 2025 campaign. For Rams supporters, switching quarterbacks from Stafford to Manning might not be a horrible move. “Teams like the New York Jets (Aaron Rodgers) and Los Angeles Rams (Matthew Stafford) could be looking to move on from aging veterans potentially heading into retirement, while others like the New York Giants (Daniel Jones), New Orleans Saints (Derek Carr), Pittsburgh Steelers (Justin Fields, Russell Wilson) and Tennessee Titans (Will Levis) could be looking for long-term upgrades over what they currently have at the top of the depth chart,” Easterling wrote on October 14.
