A 2025 Super League transfer is tied to the NRLNRL center.by Will Jackson13 October 2024
An NRL game in general.

Krystian Mapapalangi, a center with the Newcastle Knights, may be headed to the Super League in 2025. The 21-year-old’s contract with the Knights is about to expire, and the Daily Telegraph Down Under is predicting that he will go to the Northern Hemisphere.

Although Mapapalangi joined the Knights in 2021, he has had difficulty playing for the NRL team in recent seasons. He has only made seven appearances for the Knights since making his first grade debut in August 2022, five of which have occurred this season.

With 23 games and six tries in previous seasons, the Australian has seen the majority of his playing time with Newcastle’s New South Wales Cup team. Mapapalangi will turn 22 next month, and if the rumors are to be believed, he might be considering the Super League as a means of advancing his career.

There have been no reports of a possible Super League destination, but several clubs still have room on their abroad quota.

There is space for another foreign player at Wigan Warriors, St Helens, Salford Red Devils, Huddersfield Giants, and Catalans Dragons, and it appears that one or two of those teams may be considering expanding their outside back positions.

Carlos Tuimavave, the former center for Hull FC, is rumoured to have discussed a possible move to the north-west with St Helens, among other teams. Tuimavave wants to stay close to his East Yorkshire home, therefore the transaction won’t go through, but their initial interest indicates the team is amenable to adding another center. However, it’s difficult to say if Mapapalangi would meet the requirements.

Despite earlier rumors that the Dolphins were considering keeping Anthony Milford, the same article asserts that he is headed to the Super League.
