Keith Urban and his wife Nicole Kidman have had a busy year in 2024. Now, the singer has announced how he will ring in 2025: by throwing a five-hour live celebration in Nashville.
“Ring in the New Year with host @keithurban and country music’s biggest stars in New Year’s Eve LIVE: Nashville’s Big Bash December 31st on CBS!” Keith will co-host with Rachel Smith of Entertainment Tonight, according to a CBS Instagram post.
The festivities will take place at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park in the heart of the city, and Kane Brown and Jelly Roll will also be performing on the big night. The event will begin at 8/7c and go for five hours, with Keith as the main act.
The occasion will take place when Keith wraps off 2024 with a new tour in support of The Speed of Now Part 1, his 12th studio album.
Last week, he began a residency in Las Vegas to promote the album. The first two performances will take place on October 4 and 5 at the Bleau Live Theater at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. Three more performances are scheduled for this month (October 9, 11, and 12) before the limited 10-date engagement takes a break and resumes in February of next year (February 14, 15, 19, 21, and 22).
However, his wife Nicole is also working hard and coping with the loss of her mother, Janelle Ann, whom she loved.
Nicole traveled to Venice, Italy for the Venice Film Festival award ceremony, where she received Best Actress for her performance in Babygirl. However, after her departure due to Janelle’s untimely death, her director, Halina Rejn, took the prize instead.
After arriving in Venice today, I learned that my courageous and stunning mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, had recently gone away,” Nicole wrote in a statement that Halina read aloud.
“I have to go to my family because I am in shock, but this honor is for her because she made me, shaped me, and directed me. It is heartbreaking when life and art collide, and I am so thankful that Halina allows me to introduce her to all of you. We adore each and every one of you.
Along with promoting the movie, which is being considered for an award, she has been traveling with her 16-year-old daughter, Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban, who had her runway debut during Paris Fashion Week while walking for Miu Miu.
“Hopefully we can just help her keep balance with everything through all of that,” he said to People magazine on Sunday. Nicole and Keith are also related to 13-year-old Faith Margaret Kidman-Urban.
Everything is a struggle. Raising children is difficult, to put it simply. It’s about attempting to maintain equilibrium. It’s all a process, but balance is crucial, in my opinion. It’s crucial to keep her focused on her studies, organized, and in balance.
