LUIS PALMA’S father has acknowledged that, based on how he performs for the remainder of the season, his son might be traded from Celtic.
The Honduran forward for Celtic has had a slow start to the season. In the team’s Premier Sports Cup victory over Falkirk, which ended with a 2-1 deficit, he was substituted off after an hour.
In Honduras’ Concacaf Nations League doubleheader against French Guiana and Jamaica, he was unexpectedly left out, and manager Reinaldo Rueda said it would have been “high risk” to choose him.
Don Enrique Palma’s father, clarified that he preferred to focus on returning to Celtic’s previous level of play.
Additionally, he took offense at social media claims that in his own country, his lack of discipline led to his dismissal.
Senior Palma stated: “That is untrue. Anything that appears on social media should be ignored because a lot of it is untrue.
“Luis took the decision to withdraw and everything is great.
“He currently plays for Celtic and intends to stay there through the conclusion of the season.
“There may be a transfer, but what happens with him depends on his work.”
Furthermore, his father maintains that his son is not depressed about his circumstances in Parkhead.
“We have to keep in mind that the other players on the team are doing extremely well,” he clarified.
“That’s the manager’s mindset; all you have to do is work hard to win back his faith. He must lead the path.
For his team, things are going great. He merely needs to wait for his moment to present itself; there is no disagreement or anything of the sort.
“He experienced a lull as well last year, but he persevered and got through it.
“He knows the season is just getting started and there are still a lot of games left, including Champions League games, so he is not depressed about the circumstances.”
