Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Celtic, genuinely thinks his squad can surprise Dortmund after witnessing them continue their unbeaten start to the season with a 6-0 victory in Perth.

In the William Hill Premiership, Kyogo Furuhashi’s double and goals from Paulo Bernardo, Callum McGregor, Daizen Maeda, and Adam Idah, a striker for the Republic of Ireland, helped the champions easily defeat St Johnstone.

A few of the goals were of the greatest caliber in terms of their technical skill, calmness, and inventiveness during the build-up, which increased confidence before Tuesday’s Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.

This season, Rodgers’ team has won nine games in all competitions, scoring 33 goals while not giving up a goal in the league.

Regarding the possibility of winning in Germany, Rodgers remarked, “Why not? Because of our team’s strengths—our physicality and running ability—we were able to get there.

“When you’re abroad, you know there will be stressful periods, but you can see a mentality in our defense and in how close-knit and compact we are.

Therefore, you know that when you break out of that, you have speed in front of you that might really hurt. Those are the times when you do have to do it.

“However, we are not delusional.Dortmund defeated Bochum 4-2 in the Bundesliga to get warmed up.

“I watched the game on Friday night and it shows the mentality, they were 2-0 down and they came back to win 4-2,” Rodgers stated.

“It’s a really, really good squad with elite players, no doubt about it, but I’m really interested to see how we stack up against them.

“I think we can create chances, I think we can score goals, and that will be our idea going into the game.”

Due to a top injury, Cameron Carter-Vickers was unable to play in Perth once more and is still doubtful for the European match. However, Auston Trusty, a recent addition, performed admirably in his place.

“If he’s not available, Auston came in and was excellent,” stated Rodgers. His power and pace are evident. Although he is playing from the right side, he has excellent game balance and performed incredibly well. Thus, in the event that Cam is unavailable, we have another person who can step right in.”
