Anderlecht fired manager Brian Riemer last week following a four-game losing streak that dropped them to sixth place in the league standings.
They are now searching for a new manager and have been linked to moves for Mark van Bommel, the former manager of Royal Antwerp, and Clement, the manager of Rangers
Although Clement recently inked a new deal with the Gers that would keep him there through the summer of 2028, some fans may take issue with his prior affiliation with Club Brugge, Anderlecht’s rival.
Additionally, Jbari has brought up the subject of Clement’s Rangers salary, believing it to be a deal-killer for any trade the Belgian powerhouses make.
“Philippe Clement enjoys playing football that is modern and offensive. Jbari was cited by Football Scotland as saying, “He would be a very interesting option, even though he used to play for and manage Club Brugge.”
Because he plays for Rangers, there is undoubtedly a financial component as well, raising the question of whether he would even consider moving to Anderlecht.
“But he’s unquestionably a viable option for Anderlecht in addition to Van Bommel.”
Rangers are putting some pressure on Clement following a drab start to the season that has seen Celtic lose distance.
Additionally, the manager was limited on the number of signings he could make during the summer transfer window, so he had to wrangle.
