Michail Antonio and Danny Ings, two attackers for West Ham, may depart the team before their present contracts end, sources have told Football Insider.
Senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that the Irons may want to add a new striker as early as January.
When this season ends, Antonio and Ings’ contracts expire, and if they don’t accept a new offer, they will become free agents the following summer.
To make room in the squad, the Irons may try to let go of both players before they get to that stage.
The pay bill would also be reduced if the club permitted either of them to depart during the January transfer window.
Ings and Antonio add to the many unanswered questions surrounding West Ham’s long-term striking options.
