The Jesus and Mary Chain will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2024. To commemorate the event, brothers Jim and William Reid have announced a new album and a headline tour. Fuzz Club will release Glasgow Eyes on March 8 and 22. “Jamcod” is the album’s lead single; watch the video and see the band’s tour dates below.
“People should expect a Jesus and Mary Chain record, and that’s certainly what Glasgow Eyes is,” Jim Reid said in a statement. “Our creative approach is essentially the same as it was in 1984; simply go to the studio and see what occurs. We walked in with a lot of tracks and let it run its course. There are no rules, so do whatever it takes. And there’s telepathy—we’re like crazy not-quite twins who finish each other’s sentences.”
Glasgow Eyes follows the Jesus and Mary Chain’s 2017 comeback album Damage and Joy.
