Led Zeppelin to stream famous Celebration Day concert on YouTube in exclusive three-day treat
Led Zeppelin is teaming up with YouTube on Saturday for an exclusive streaming of its film Celebration Day.
The rock band’s iconic film chronicles their historic live performance at their 2007 tribute concert for their dear friend and Atlantic Records founder, Ahmet Ertegun.
Ertegun died in October 2006 at the age of 83 after he tripped and hit his head at a Rolling Stones concert.
Celebration Day will be available to watch in its entirety on YouTube for three days only from Saturday 30 May.
You’ll watch the band as they took to the stage at London’s O2 Arena on 10 December, 2007.
It was their first headline show in 27 years and one of the most wildly anticipated concerts in rock ‘n’ roll history, with 20 million people applying for tickets through a worldwide lottery.
Founding members John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were joined onstage by Jason Bonham, the son of late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham.
Led Zeppelin played their signature, blues-inspired rock ‘n’ roll for more than two hours, sharing 16 of their hit songs.
It included legendary performances of songs like Whole Lotta Love, Rock And Roll, Kashmir, Black Dog, and Stairway To Heaven.
Video and audio of the famous concert were released back in 2012 earning both critical acclaim and commercial success around the globe and winning a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.
The band, which started up in London in 1968, was honoured for its lifetime contribution to American culture at the Kennedy Center Honours in 2012.
And in recent years it’s embarked upon an unprecented reissue campaign for its studio and live albums, as well as it’s BBC sessions, which got Top 10 chart status around the world.
