Liam Payne was contacted by Kelly Osbourne in the final days of his life.

The former One Direction singer, who died in October at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, was a friend of the 40-year-old reality star, who believed he was “in a good place” before to the tragedy.

“It struck hard,” she told UsWeekly this week. He was in a favorable position. He wanted to make sure that I was doing okay.

The former ‘Osbournes’ star, who has a 23-month-old son named Sidney with her partner Sid Wilson, has previously battled alcoholism and said that although it’s a “rocky road” for her, motherhood prevents her from relapsing.

“Most days are fantastic, but occasionally I have a really bad day where I find it difficult to get myself out of it,” she remarked. I can avoid seeing the pain and feeling unworthy by numbing myself, which is my normal habitual instinct. I could simply hibernate. But after having a baby, you can’t do that. You really can’t. Sometimes it’s hard to find alternative strategies to get through those unpleasant days.

Although Liam had great success with One Direction, he had previously acknowledged that he struggled with alcohol and drugs and that his way of life had become a “cause for concern” at one point.

The ‘Strip That Down’ writer, who played with Niall, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik – told the BBC: “When I was younger, I went straight in on the whisky. I tend to pick my poison early, then I stick with it until it bores me.”

Kelly is the daughter of Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne and former “X Factor” judge Sharon Osbourne. Her mother said that her father had been “let down” by the industry a few days after the tragedy.

“Liam, my heart aches,” Sharon said on Instagram with a photo of the musician. We all failed you. When you needed this industry, where was it? You started working in one of the most difficult fields in the world when you were just a little child. Who stood beside you? May my friend @liampayne (sic) rest in peace.
