Dylan Lucas and Brodie Jones have both announced their re-signings with the Newcastle Knights.
Lucas had a year left on his current contract, but he was pulled off the market before the November 1 deadline, which would have allowed other clubs to negotiate with him. Jones’ contract expired at the end of 2024.

The 24-year-old pathways player, who joined the team in 2019, Lucas, one of the 2024 NRL season’s standout performers, has confirmed a lengthy contract to the end of 2027.

Lucas, a back-rower with center-playing ability, made his debut in 2023, but it was the following year that he established himself as a mainstay in Adam O’Brien’s Hunter-based side.

Regarding his re-signing, Knights director of football Peter Parr stated, “Dylan has grown into a vital member of our NRL team over the last couple of years.

Dylan has received representative honors, and we anticipate that he will keep getting better and be a key member of the Knights going forward.

However, Jones, who joined the Knights in 2014 for the Harold Matthews Cup, will continue his career as a one-club player at the age of 26.

In order to increase his total of 72 NRL appearances in 2025, the former Australian Schoolboy has agreed to a one-year extension.

Regarding the edge forward, Parr remarked, “Brodie has developed into a reliable NRL player over the past few years.

He works really hard and has recently demonstrated a sincere ability to think of big plays at pivotal times.

The Club is happy that he has decided to continue his career with the Knights, and we look forward to him developing even more.
