The idea of Kalyn Ponga playing five-eighth again in the near future has been ruled out. Throughout his career to date, Ponga has made several attempts to move from fullback to the No. 6 shirt.

The Newcastle star finally left the front line and went back to his usual place, but the experiment has always been abandoned.
After a string of nauseating head injuries that cast doubt on his future in the game, Ponga’s career was at a crossroads just over 18 months ago.

In an effort to shed light on his concussion problems, the Queenslander traveled to Canada to do a battery of tests.

Despite the numerous blows he received while he was compelled to tackle in the front line, he acknowledged upon his return to Australia that he was still considering becoming a five-eighth.

I tried to play even after returning from Canada.

In an attempt to forget what I had just experienced, I returned to the front lines.

However, during two or three games there, I felt a little shy. In addition to trying to learn a job, I was also trying to move past my past experiences.

Ponga’s eventual return to the No. 1 jersey ignited a historic comeback, propelling Newcastle from the bottom of the standings to fifth place and winning the Dally M Medal.

As the Knights aim to become premiership contenders in 2025, the 26-year-old voiced his satisfaction at being in the No. 1 jersey for the foreseeable future.

Ponga stated, “I’m not a great No.6 – not yet.” “And since I want to remain at number one, I won’t be.

Every time I try at five-eighth, I get three or four games, and I probably need more than that.”

However, it’s ideal for me to return to fullback and simply play my game.
