If the previous events had gone differently, a WWE superstar who was being considered for the TNA Hall of Fame may have been inducted in the 2024 class.
Bound For Glory, TNA’s largest show of the year, debuted on October 25. Shortly before Bound For Glory, TNA conducted their annual Hall of Fame event, where Rhino and Bob Ryder were honored for their services to the organization, much like WWE and WrestleMania. Two more names may have been inducted in Detroit, according to a recent report.
Matt Hady confirmed that TNA original Monty Brown was being considered for the honor, as reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select. Hady stated that the reason for this was because no one was able to contact Brown.
The second candidate put out was AJ Styles, one of the biggest TNA stars who has since achieved success all around the world. Sapp goes on to say that WWE was approached about inducting Styles, but they declined. TNA sources conjectured that Styles’s recent injury and the ongoing plot were contributing causes, however specifics were not provided.
Although this seemed impossible at first, the goodwill between the two businesses has made it possible for additional unexpected appearances and future partnerships. Additionally, it should be mentioned that WWE talent has previously appeared in Ken Shamrock’s Hall of Fame induction, as The Rock offered an induction tribute via video.
TLC battle legends The Hardys faced off in a Full Metal Mayhem match for what may have been their final attempt to capture the Tag Team Championships in the main event of Bound For Glory. An legendary WWE commercial was recreated during the TNA match.
