Celine Dion arrived in style on Thursday at the 2024 City of Hope, Spirit of Life Gala in Los Angeles. Jay Marciano, the chairman and CEO of AEG Presents, was honored at the event and later received The Spirit of Life Award.
In order to assist City of Hope’s life-saving mission to defeat diabetes and cancer, the organization brings together leaders and artists from the music, film, and entertainment sectors.
In addition to being there, Dion gave Marciano the prize. She made a bold fashion statement in a black Sportmax gown while doing so. Vibrant detail was added by the design’s iridescent liquid shine finish. Two pieces made up the silhouette, including a form-fitting, sleeveless black piece with delicate ruche detailing. A beautiful lattice mesh sleeve with delicate, shimmering details adorned the upper part. Lastly, an enormous bow made of the same black iridescent fabric as the bodice was adorning the back of the dress.
The singer of “My Heart Will Go On” accessorized with a pair of black slingback shoes with a lattice pattern on the front that were encrusted with crystals by Valentino Garavani. She wore a single black cuff and diamond drop earrings with an ear wrapping feature as her more understated jewelry choice.
Dion would be making her first public appearance since her 2024 Olympic performance in Paris over three months prior. Magician David Blaine and Elton John, who sang “Your Song,” a cover of “Tiny Dancer,” and “Rocket Man,” were among the other well-known guests at the gala.
