Matthew Lefeau, an offensive lineman at Shasta College in Tacoma, Washington, has been a target of the Florida Gators for approximately a month. Lefeau had been contacted by assistant offensive line coach John Decoster, who had been considering the JUCO big man as a possible target for an offer.
Following a series of back-and-forth discussions, the Gators made the move on Friday afternoon with an offer.
Lefeau had been waiting for such an offer.
Bowdon (GA) 2026 four-star tight end Kaiden Prothro had not been on UF’s campus until this past weekend, despite having an offer from the Florida Gators since this past April. On his first visit to The Swamp, he had the opportunity to meet most of the coaching staff and get a taste of Gainesville game day. Behind the arm of rookie quarterback DJ Lagway, the Gators defeated Kentucky 48–20 in front of Prothro.
In addition to taking long shots through the air, the Gators offense scored points behind fellow rookie Jadan Baugh and his five rushing touchdowns.
An open date in Week 9 has given the Georgia Bulldogs a little reprieve this week. The Bulldogs are still working hard, though, as they prepare for what is effectively the second half of their regular season.
This week marks the second bye week of the season for No. 2 Georgia (6-1, 4-1 SEC), which comes before their last five regular season games. The next challenge for Georgia will be against rival Florida in Jacksonville, who is trying to end the Bulldogs’ three-game winning streak in the rivalry.
This squad has experienced a lot since the first bye week of the year, as Kirby Smart clarified on Tuesday.
“I believe that everyone has matured. Since the last bye week, we’ve played home games against two formidable SEC opponents, traveled to Texas, and played on the road versus Alabama. “It has been a journey,” Smart remarked. Since every week is currently a season, I believe the next adventure will be a five-game stretch, if I’m not mistaken. It will also be an incredible journey. I’m also proud of the men who are working. I am unable to single anyone out. I believe that many males have made progress.
Even though Georgia doesn’t have a game this week, there are still a few injury issues that are worth keeping an eye on while the Bulldogs try to recover.
