This week, millions of Americans are expected to travel for Thanksgiving. Approximately 81.8 million Americans are anticipated to travel for Turkey Day this year, according to a AAA press release. Compared to 2024, this represents an increase of about 1.6 million.
It is estimated that over 4.6 million Floridians will travel at least 40 miles. Compared to previous year, which set the state record for the most Thanksgiving travel, this represents a more than 2.5% increase.
According to the announcement, “Floridians are embracing the Thanksgiving spirit with record-breaking travel plans this year,” stated Debbie Haas, AAA’s vice president of travel. “People are finding time to be with loved ones, whether they are traveling across the state or the nation via plane. Travelers are demonstrating adaptability and resiliency and relying primarily on driving despite worries about airline cancellations.
According to the press release, almost 4.259 million Floridians will travel by car, nearly 300,000 by air, and roughly 87,000 by other means.
