Army West Point men’s basketball (1-2) hosted the No. 4 team in the country, the Duke University Blue Devils (3-0), and Mike Krzyzewski (1969), at Christl Arena. The Blue Devils won 59-114. The game went on to set a record for the most spectators inside Christl Arena in the history of the program. The ultimate attendance on Veterans Day was 5,326, surpassing the previous record of 5,291 for Army’s game against Navy on January 21, 2017.

Additionally, the Black Knights hosted a Power Five opponent at West Point for the first time in 28 years and only the third time in program history. The first took place on December 21, 1978, against LSU. The second took place on November 16, 1997, versus Duke. On Tuesday, Mike Krzyzewski (1969) returned to his alma institution, where a banner commemorating him as the most successful head coach in NCAA Division I history was unveiled. Fifty years ago, in 1975, he started his coaching career at Army. During his five seasons at West Point, he had a 70-32 record.
