With just two losses this season, the Los Angeles Lakers appear to be among the league’s top teams. Their role players have stepped up significantly, and Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic have been outstanding. Without LeBron James, who hasn’t made his debut yet, they’ve managed to get out to a fast start. The Lakers are anticipated to move forward after he returns to the rotation.
Los Angeles does not, however, have a flawless squad. Their bench is even worse, ranking 29th, and they rank 27th in rebounds. With 11.5 boards per game, Doncic leads the club in this category. With 8.5 rebounds per game, Deandre Ayton sets a new career low. The Lakers might look to a struggling Eastern Conference team with obvious vulnerabilities of its own to complete the frontcourt.
