Although flat track racing is the oldest organized two-wheeled motorsport in America, Speedhunters has never participated in it. Given our history of concentrating on four-wheeled equipment and the fact that we have only been in business for ten and a half years, that isn’t totally shocking. Unfortunately, we were unable to cover the initial events, which took place as early as the 1920s.
American Flat Track Chief Marketing Officer Gene Crouch is quick to state that the sport did indeed have its glory a few decades ago. From the 1950s to the 1970s, flat track was the top motorcycle racing series in the US. However, the sport is well on its way to regaining popularity in the United States, as evidenced by the fact that the 2019 AFT season saw 1,933 percent more viewers than in 2016 no, that’s not a typo.
Although flat track racing has a long history, it has never been a better or more accessible spectator sport than it is now, so there’s solid justification for all of this. The series has always been a thrilling spectacle to watch, so it makes sense that it is gaining popularity once more with the help of online streams and three recently updated, relatable courses.
