Five skiers were discovered dead on a Swiss mountain.
After two skiers reported finding abandoned skis at the base of the 13,000-foot Rimpfischhorn summit, Valais cantonal police stated Sunday that five skiers’ bodies had been discovered on a glacier above the Swiss mountain resort Zermatt on Saturday. After locating the skis and failing to come across any owners along the way, the two skiers ascending Rimpfischhorn notified rescuers. According to authorities, an Air Zermatt plane with two Valais Cantonal Rescue Organization specialists, an emergency physician, and a paramedic flew over the location right away. After searches on the ground and in the air, the bodies were soon found on the Adler Glacier.
According to Valais officials, “formal identification of the victims is still ongoing.” “An investigation has been launched by the Public Prosecutor’s Office to ascertain the precise circumstances surrounding this accident.”
