Finishing second in the AL East, the NY Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles 3-2.

After defeating the Baltimore Orioles 3-2 on Sunday thanks to two home runs from Ben Rice, the New York Yankees ended the season with an eight-game winning streak, one victory short of repeating as AL East champions. Tampa Bay was defeated 13–4 by Toronto. Toronto won the AL East on a tiebreaker due to its 8-5 advantage in the season series, but the Blue Jays and Yankees both finished 94-68. Starting Tuesday, New York will host Boston in a best-of-three Wild Card Series. The victor will advance to a Division Series the following weekend.

Aaron Judge achieved 1 hit in 4 at-bats and secured his inaugural batting crown, topping the big leagues with a .331 average. He has 114 RBIs and 53 home runs. Jordan Westburg and Gunnar Henderson blasted consecutive home runs off Luis Gil in the fourth inning to take a 2-1 lead after Rice’s home run against Kyle Bradish in the first. Rice drove an opposite-field shot to left off Rico Garcia (0-2) in the eighth inning, and Giancarlo Stanton’s RBI single tied the score in the bottom half.
