This season, many Major League Baseball fans have been wondering: How did Kyle Schwarber get so excellent so quickly? With two seasons in which he hit 40 or more home runs, Schwarber has always had a penchant for the long ball. With a career-best.946 OPS going into play on Thursday, he not only eclipsed the 50-homer mark for the first time this season but also solidified his status as a much more well-rounded hitter.

The return on the $79 million, four-year investment the Philadelphia Phillies made in Schwarber prior to the 2022 season must have been more than satisfactory. It will probably take much more than that, though, if they want to keep him around this time.
