According to a news release from the cantonal police of the Wallis/Valais canton, a 58-year-old South Korean climber passed away on August 24 after collapsing while descending the Matterhorn in Switzerland. Two mountaineers were descending the Hörnligrat, the mountain’s renowned northeast ridge, when the disaster happened at approximately 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 24. One of the climbers fell for unknown circumstances at a height of around 4,000 meters (13,123 feet).
