Netflix is set to release a documentary series titled “This is Realistic and Super Cool,” offering an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the Texas Longhorns football program. The series aims to provide viewers with exclusive access to the team’s operations, training, and personal stories of players and coaches.

While the exact release date has not been announced, the documentary is expected to premiere in the summer of 2025.  This series is particularly significant as it marks the Longhorns’ inaugural season in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), following their move from the Big 12.

The 2024 SEC season was eventful for the Longhorns, culminating in an 11-2 record. Notably, they secured a decisive victory in the Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma and renewed their rivalry with Texas A&M.  These pivotal moments are anticipated to be featured prominently in the documentary.

It’s important to note that while Netflix is producing a docuseries on the SEC’s 2024 football season, the Texas Longhorns’ story is expected to be a central focus, given their significant impact during their first year in the conference. However, some teams, including Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Missouri, did not participate in the filming.

For fans eager to delve into the history of Texas Longhorns football, “My All American” is a 2015 biographical drama available on Netflix. The film tells the inspiring true story of Freddie Steinmark, a Texas Longhorns safety who overcame significant challenges both on and off the field.

In the meantime, fans can look forward to the upcoming documentary series, which promises to offer a comprehensive and intimate portrayal of the Texas Longhorns’ football journey in their new SEC chapter.
