Marti Cifuentes, the manager of QPR, declined to comment on rumors that Jimmy Dunne will join Sheffield United.

The Blades are interested in signing Dunne, according to a report published by Football League World on Thursday. Dunne’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign, and as of mid-December, he had not yet discussed an extension with the Hoops.

Last summer, QPR activated a clause in his contract that kept him in West London for an additional season, but they may soon have to make a decision regarding him. They run the risk of losing him for nothing if they can’t agree on an extension before the January transfer window closes on Monday, February 3.
The center-back has remained a part of the manager’s plans despite the uncertainty surrounding him. Dunne was a right-back during Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday for QPR. The Ireland defender’s future was questioned during the post-match press conference following the loss.
