Wolves were reportedly in negotiations to buy Manu from Vitoria on Saturday, and a bid of about £10 million had been made.
Manu was then said to be “on his way” to Wolves, and it appeared that the signing was proceeding as planned.
Due to Benfica’s manipulation of the transaction, Wolves were unable to sign Manu Silva.
Wolves made an initial bid of €12 million (about £10 million) for the 23-year-old midfielder, who can also play center defense, with a 10% sell-on clause.
Over the weekend, negotiations between Wolves and Primeira Liga team Vitoria SC resulted in an agreement of €12 million plus €2 million in add-ons, coupled with a 20% sell-on.
