Austin, TX – In a move that adds depth and experience to their quarterback room, the Texas Longhorns have secured the commitment of transfer quarterback CJ Rogers. Rogers, who previously played at Baylor, Texas State, and Houston Christian, brings a wealth of experience to the table as he joins the Longhorns for his final collegiate season.

Rogers, a former highly-touted recruit out of Argyle High School in Texas, initially signed with Baylor in 2021. After limited playing time with the Bears, he transferred to Texas State, where he continued to develop his skills. Most recently, Rogers spent time at Houston Christian, where he gained valuable experience and showcased his abilities on the field.

Rogers’ addition to the quarterback room provides valuable insurance for the Longhorns, who are expected to lose starting quarterback Quinn Ewers to the NFL Draft after the upcoming season. With Arch Manning poised to take the reins, Rogers will provide experienced depth and competition within the quarterback room.
