After reaching an agreement on a two-year contract with Parramatta, Josh Addo-Carr is set to make his NRL comeback. The premiership-winning winger had previously met with new coach Jason Ryles and general manager of football Mark O’Neill, who have worked with him at the Storm and Tigers, respectively. Addo-Carr secured his future at a second meeting with Parramatta officials on Thursday afternoon.

Other Parramatta powerbrokers used the most recent meeting as an opportunity to conduct due diligence and make sure The Foxx would mesh well with the club’s culture.

Since Canterbury fired Addo-Carr after he tested positive for cocaine in a roadside police drug test, he has been in a state of career limbo. The winger who won a premiership insists he has never used drugs on purpose.

Although Addo-Carr has been linked to a move to the Dragons, his next stop will be Parramatta. Following the departures of Blaize Talagi, Maika Sivo, and Clint Gutherson, Ryles has taken over a backline in transition.

During his vacation, Addo-Carr worked on a construction site and acknowledged that it was a “reality check” to have his $500,000-a-year Canterbury contract ripped up. Earlier this month, he declared, “I love playing football, and I’m only 29.

At the moment, my physique is in good condition. I just need to find another club because I’m enjoying life. I’ll keep chipping away; I’m positive I will.

I will always remember to be thankful for what I have. The fact that there are people out there working, excavating, and other such tasks serves as a small reality check. It’s a difficult situation right now, and they must do what they must to support themselves and their family. Giving back brings you back to the present.

He won’t be the only former Bulldog to sign with the Eels. Joash Papalii and Jordan Samrani, two promising Canterbury players, have also switched to their bitter rivals.

Addo-Carr is certain that he has a lot of excellent football left and longs for another opportunity to win a grand final.

That’s why you play the game, to achieve the biggest thing, and that’s a premiership, he remarked.

I enjoy playing football and being a part of the team atmosphere. You simply need to take a look at what we accomplished at the Bulldogs this year to see how much I enjoy being a part of it.

We got through the terrible times and came out the other end. The club is headed in the correct way. I adore how much fun we have together and how hard we work for one another. Teams come together through hard work, which is why it’s so fun.
