Millwall defeated Leeds United at The Den on Wednesday night, giving Daniel Farke’s team just their second Championship loss.
Prior to Millwall’s goal through Japhet Tanganga, Leeds had opportunities to score and did take the lead. Both Wilfried Gnonto and Brenden Aaronson wasted opportunities in the first half.
Gary Rowett thinks the decision to deny Joel Piroe’s goal was the right one. Aaronson wasn’t at his best at Millwall; perhaps the USA star was overwhelmed by the physicality of Leeds’ opponents.
Indeed, only two players lost 10 or more duels and one of them was Aaronson along with Leeds lefty Pascal Struijk. Aaronson was the subject of a question put to Farke on Thursday afternoon in his presser
Brenden Aaronson has two areas for improvement, according to Daniel Farke.
Farke will not be able to work with the USA star over the break because he will be playing for Mauricio Pochettino’s team following Saturday’s match against QPR.
Aaronson is impressive, though. Despite returning to Leeds following a loan at Union Berlin, Aaronson talked about the support he receives from Leeds supporters. Farke responded to a question about him on Thursday.
He was the player that worked the hardest on the field. He got the ball back in a big way. He had a tremendous chance, if I may be critical. I want him to be persuaded and complete neatly, which is something he can do better.
At halftime, I informed him that he runs excessively. He stays away from the striker during the pivotal times. Out of position, but with good intentions. He’s just gaining a sense of his role here. I adore his enthusiasm. At halftime, I also told him that he runs too much. He stays away from the striker during the pivotal times. Out of position, but with good intentions. He’s just gaining a sense of his role here. I adore his enthusiasm. He must, however, channel it occasionally. I believe he will appear in more captivating situations if he calms down. He is a superb player, but he can reach the highest level of play if he fixes this.
