Farke is cautiously hopeful that Ampadu will return.

Daniel Farke, the manager of Leeds, has voiced cautious optimism that Ethan Ampadu will be able to return to play sooner than expected. During the team’s 3-0 victory over Coventry at the end of September, the Welsh international midfielder sustained damage to his knee ligament. The Leeds captain has been reacting positively to the club’s decision to adopt “Conservative treatment” following consultation with experts.

Daniel Farke disclosed at his Millwall pre-press conference that Ampadu has already resumed light responsibilities, such as running. The Thorp Arch medical staff will not take the chance of allowing him to return to first team action until he is healthy and ready, considering his significance. Relapsing and missing the entire campaign is the last thing they need. As said by Farke.

He’s already running and working hard. He’s even a little ahead of schedule, so it will be some time before he can join us for team training. I’m cautiously hopeful that he’ll be able to resume team training sooner. We’ll see. Typically, it would be feasible to resume training in mid-December and then be available in early January.

Since he is our captain and a dynamic player, it would be great if he could assist us a little earlier rather than later. Although we won’t push it, we would really like to have him back. The injury was severe. He’s a little ahead, but we’ll have to wait and see. It’s never easy to say, therefore you have to prolong the load from day to day and there could be a day when you have to be a bit careful and take a step back.
It’s pretty rare that I’ve ever experienced a straightforward rehab. So far each day it was better and it looks really good but it’s too soon to judge when he can help us again.

The most dispossessed player in the Championships is Aaronson.

USA International Brenden Aaronson has put a lot of effort into winning back the confidence of his Leeds teammates and the Elland Road supporters since his return from his Germany break. He left the team after they were relegated eighteen months ago, only to spend a dismal season with Union Berlin in the Bundesliga. The 24 year old has been a major component of Daniel Farke’s plans ever since he returned to Blighty in the summer due to unresolved business and promises of a new beginning.

He bulked up a little, but his upper body strength remains a matter for concern despite four goals, an assist, and a very healthy 7.02 ‘Whoscored’ rating (6th). According to the most recent data, Aaronson has played 1029 minutes in total been knocked off the ball or tackled 38 times already, more than any other Championship player this season; prompting speculation that he may be rested for tonight’s physical battle at the Den!
