The Midland Soccer Academy in Staffordshire and professional services company Liquid have teamed up to sponsor the under-eights football team’s uniform. The action is a component of Liquid’s 20 Acts of Kindness initiative.

Liquid is a communications and public relations agency that was established in 2004. Over the course of its first two decades of operation, the firm, which has its main offices in Birmingham and London, has expanded its clientele to include companies in Canada, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, and Australia.

The firm has also had a lengthy history of collaborating with and assisting regional and national sports over that time. Among the notable clients are Birmingham City Women, West Bromwich Albion, the Cyrille Regis Legacy Trust, Sport England, England Golf, and Aston Villa Football Club. Liquid has now further

Since its establishment in 2013, the Midland Soccer Academy has enabled volunteers to teach football to Burntwood residents aged five and up.

Elisabeth Lewis-Jones, CEO of Liquid, discussed the sponsorship, saying, We have a strong enthusiasm for sports, particularly football, and supporting our local communities. We’re thrilled to watch these young football players develop and thrive on and off the field, and we think grassroots efforts are crucial.

Earlier in 2024, Liquid unveiled its new electric blue logo with the tagline, Creating Conversations for 20 years. Players for Midland Soccer Academy’s under-eights team will now wear it on the front of their black goalkeeping shirt and orange and green outfield uniforms.

They will compete for the South Staffordshire Junior League this year, which begins in September, hoping to build on an outstanding season in which they made it to two cup finals and maintained 30 straight clean sheets.

Oliver, a member of the Midland Soccer Academy under eight squad, spoke about the next season, saying, I love playing for the team, we are all friends, and training is lots of fun. We get to play matches on Sundays, so that’s my favorite day of the week. I’m eager for the new season to begin.

All players, regardless of talent, gender, or age, are welcome to join the Midland Soccer Academy, which operates on an inclusive and non-selective approach. Through individual participation, the academy hopes to foster friendship, camaraderie, and a sense of community. This means that in addition to the typical youth divisions, the academy also has the walking football team for over 65s, who are currently the English champions, and the over 63s and 67s, who won the Birmingham League for the 2023–2024 season.
