“Draw foul must be 99”- NBA Twitter disapproves of Team Canada star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 97 2K25 rating

Fans disapproved of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 97 rating in NBA 2K25. Despite finishing second in the MVP race, it seems fans do not view the OKC Thunder star as one of the top players in the league.

Only two players, Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid, who both have a 98 overall rating, were ranked higher than the Canadian player. Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo were also rated 97. Players like Kevin Durant [96], LeBron James [96] and Anthony Edwards [95] were rated below SGA.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ranked as second-best point guard in the NBA behind Luka Doncic

In the last few seasons, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has made his stride to become one of the best players in the league. From being perceived as one of the most underrated players in the league, to being considered as one of the best players in the league, SGA’s journey has been remarkable.

He was only behind Nikola Jokic in the MVP conversation last season. Going into the next season, Hoops Hype has ranked the Oklahoma City star as the second-best point guard in the league, only behind Luka Doncic. Given what Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was able to achieve last season, the ranking does justice to the OKC Thunder’s star.

Last season, SGA played a total of 75 games and averaged 30.1 points per game while shooting 53.5% from the field and 35.3% from the three-point line. He was equally, if not better as a guard for his team. SGA also averaged 6.2 assists per game. Moreover, he also averaged 5.5 rebounds per game and led the league in steals per game [2.0].

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was named All-NBA First Team and selected for his second All-Star Game appearance. The Thunder player finished third in the Clutch Player Of The Year and seventh in the Defensive Player Of The Year race. Led by SGA, the Thunder finished as the top team in the Western Conference.
