According to Beren Cross, Daniel Farke will feel relieved about the bans of his Leeds United players
Following the Whites’ frustrating goalless draw with Bristol City on Saturday, the manager will at least be relieved that three members of his defense are not suspended at the same time, according to the journalist’s report for LeedsLive [27 October]. Junior Firpo was suspended at Ashton Gate, and Jayden Bogle will miss the Whites’ home game against Plymouth Argyle [2 November] after receiving his fifth booking of the season in the second half.
Both Joe Rodon and forward Wilfried Gnonto are facing four yellow cards and a one-match suspension, which Farke will be relieved does not coincide with either Bogle’s or Firpo’s.
Leeds United managing their limited roster
Leeds have more choices in some areas than others. For example, despite his quick start at Elland Road, Manor Solomon has missed fewer games than initially anticipated because to Largie Ramazani’s performance in his place.
However, if defense had lost Bogle, Firpo, and Rodon all at once, Farke’s selection would have been disastrous, and new free agent Josuha Guilavogui would have likely forced to start right away alongside Pascal Struijk in the centre of a much-changed defence.
After only 40 league minutes this season, Sam Byram was the player who replaced Firpo and played a strong shift at left-back for the entire ninety minutes.
When the highly effective Firpo returns against Plymouth, he is anticipated to go to the opposite side to cover Bogle’s absence.
Farke will need to evaluate the play of Max Wober, who is recuperating, when Rodon’s unavoidable ban comes around. Guilavogui can also fill in.
