The college football season has passed the halfway point and November is just around the corner. With the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff scheduled to start this year, fans and media members are beginning to determine the favorites to win it all. Rece Davis, host of ESPN’s “College GameDay,” appeared on the “Paul Finebaum Show.” During the segment, he shared the season’s top four college football teams so far. Davis believes the Texas Longhorns, Oregon Ducks, Ohio State Buckeyes and Georgia Bulldogs are currently “a cut above everyone else

“To my eye, the teams that have separated themselves and looked better than the rest are Texas, Georgia, Oregon and Ohio State,” said Davis. “Miami has not lost. It’s possible that Penn State will eventually join that group. However, based on my observations of their play, those teams appear to be superior to all others. They’re unbeatable not too far above that.”

Georgia, Texas, and Oregon are among the top four teams with the highest odds of qualifying for the College Football Playoffs, according to the FPI. Miami is included in this group rather than Ohio State, though. All four teams, however, have a good chance of taking home the title at the end of the season.
