After agreeing to a one-year agreement, the Newcastle Knights are happy to announce that versatile forward Brodie Jones will stay with the team until the 2025 National Rugby League season.
Jones, a 26-year-old one-club player who joined the Newcastle Knights Harold Matthews team in 2014, is another Knights pathways success story.
The Cessnock Goannas junior progressed through all Knights junior age teams, as well as Australian Schoolboys and junior representative teams, before landing a full-time deal in 2020.
Jones was elected Knights Rookie of the Year in 2021 after making his NRL debut against the Penrith Panthers in Round 3, 2020. Since then, he has made 72 appearances in the NRL.
According to Peter Parr, director of football for the Newcastle Knights, Jones’ re-signing is a reward for his consistency.
Over the past few years, Brodie has established himself as a reliable NRL player, according to Parr.
He works really hard and has recently demonstrated a sincere ability to think of big plays at pivotal times.
The Club is happy that he has decided to continue his career with the Knights, and we look forward to him developing even more.
