As they seek to improve their junior development teams, the Canterbury Bulldogs have reportedly recruited one of the best prospects from the state of Queensland.
The club has acquired Nate Thompson, a 17-year-old phenom who is thought to be among rugby league’s fastest prospects.
The fullback, who is well-known for competing in the 100-meter race, is already a state athlete, having competed for Queensland in track and field and rugby union with the Australian Schoolboys.
According to The Courier Mail, Thompson has signed a three-year contract with the Bulldogs after leaving Queensland. He will start in the lower divisions with the goal of joining the team’s NRL roster in the upcoming seasons.
His arrival follows his participation in the 2024 Cyrill Connell Cup with the Sunshine Coast Falcons, who ended in tenth position with two victories from six games.
