After decades of success in the UK and her home country of Australia, the 56-year-old pop sensation, who is among the best-selling female artists of all time, recently experienced a comeback in the US. She remains amazed that other celebrities are aware of her presence, though.
‘The Bert Show’ featured her saying: “I assume you don’t know who I am. Natasha Lyonne is aware of my identity. I just assume that they haven’t heard of me, even though I know that everyone else has.
The legendary singer of “Spinning Around,” who started her musical career in the late 1980s after spending two years on the Australian soap opera “Neighbours,” acknowledged that part of her current “drive” is to continue developing and learning in her line of work.
She remarked: “I suppose that part of what motivates me is that I still feel like I’m learning and trying to convince myself and others that I want better results. I simply don’t presume that anyone knows who I am, and I want to be better and more expansive for my creative fulfillment. Hello, I’m Kylie. I appreciate you coming here today.
The ‘Lights Camera Action’ singer was then asked what it’s like to be out when one of her songs is played. She said that the last time it happened was following the Met Gala, and even though she was “slightly embarrassed” at the time, she had to dance.
“It’s fantastic,” she said. I was on cloud nine the previous time it happened and I was actually [out] at 4am. I had a great time. After the Met Gala, that is.
“After the DJ played my song a few times, I felt a little ashamed. I asked myself, “What should I do? How can I appear cool? However, I felt that I couldn’t not be moving to my song, so I just kind of danced!”
