DETROIT: Attend the performance and remain for the eye-catching laser and light display. Their last show in Michigan was a visually and acoustically spectacular performance by Jeff Lynne’s ELO.
On Wednesday, October 9, shortly after 9:30 p.m., Lynne and his large band—which included a pianist, two guitarists, a bassist, two backup vocalists, a keyboardist, a drummer, two cellists, and a violinist—took the stage.
As a man of few words, Lynne would say, “This is our last tour, and I just want to thank you all for sticking with us for all these years,” in between songs. Thank you.
This concert was as straightforward as it could be. With the exception of the one encore, Lynne and the band performed twenty songs in total for ninety minutes without a break.
The harmonies were spot on, and the band sounded fantastic. The lasers and bright lights added to the atmosphere.
“Evil Woman,” “Do Ya,” “Last Train to London,” “Strange Magic,” “Sweet Talkin’ Woman,” “Telephone Line,” “All Over the World,” “Don’t Bring Me Down,” and “Mr. Blue Sky” were among the Electric Light Orchestra songs that they performed because fans wanted to hear them.
We can’t stop listening to Lynne and the band’s music because they let it speak for itself.
