The AFL integrity unit was notified, it has been disclosed, after a convicted felon was seen in the locker rooms after an Essendon match earlier this year.

Following Essendon’s victory over Collingwood in Round 17 in early July, Kamil Yucel was spotted on camera in the rooms during Channel 7’s Roaming Brian episode.

According to reports, Yucel is acquainted with forward Jake Stringer and Nick Hind, a defender for Essendon who was recently delisted.

Hind was talking to Yucel when Seven commentator Brian Taylor approached him during the post-game segment.

“How do you know each other?” Taylor asked Hind.

“You don’t want to know,” Hind said, before going into further detail.

He remarked, “We’re just good friends; we only met a few months ago, and he takes care of me.”

In the Essendon rooms, Hind embraced Yucel and remarked, “He takes care of Jakey (Stringer) and me.”

He does a lot, and every day we meet up at a café. We come from diverse backgrounds.

According to the Herald Sun, Yucel was sentenced to five years in prison for the 2016 shooting death of a man.

Kickboxer Yucel enters a guilty plea to manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of Rahat Khan, an aspiring cricket player, in Dallas, in northern Melbourne.

A court heard that before to the fatal altercation, Mr. Khan and a companion drove to Yucel’s street.

Yucel had been “living in fear of underworld figure Farshad Rasooli, who claimed he was owed money” for at least a year, according to the Herald Sun.

Rasooli spoke with Mr. Khan over the phone the night of the shooting death, and he visited Yucel’s residence.

After Yucel was spotted in the club’s inner sanctum, Essendon was contacted by the AFL integrity unit.

A representative for Essendon told the Herald Sun that the AFL’s integrity department had been in touch with the club and warned them about who was allowed to enter the rooms after games.

Hind joined the Bombers from St Kilda and played in 74 games. At the end of the season, the Bombers delisted him.

After seven seasons with the Bombers, Stringer is scheduled to leave Essendon during the trade period, although he still has one year left on his contract.

Despite scoring 42 goals this season, the 30-year-old is expected to be moved to the GWS Giants because Essendon is unwilling to offer the forward a contrac extension
