Tenika Willison, an NRLW outside back, has re-signed with the Newcastle Knights through the conclusion of the 2026 National Rugby League Women’s Premiership season, the team is happy to announce.
After finishing her international duties for New Zealand Rugby, where her team won gold at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Willison, 27, joined the Knights earlier this year.
Ben Jeffries, head coach of the Knights NRLW, expressed his happiness that Tenika had chosen to re-sign with the team.
Jeffries stated, “As soon as Tenika joined our pathways, it was evident that she would contribute significantly to our group both on and off the field.”
“Tenika is a team-first character with an unwavering work ethic. She helps people all throughout our group, and I can see her helping development players like Lily-Ann White advance in the future.
Her ability to swiftly adjust to NRLW level without a full pre-season is a tribute to her, as was her competitiveness and experience as a high-end athlete from the beginning.
“We are thrilled about Tenika’s prospects for the upcoming season and beyond, knowing that she will be better after gaining experience in NRLW games and a preseason.”
