After defeating Karolina Muchova 6-1 6-3 in the China Open final, Coco Gauff won her second championship of the year.

The 20-year-old American easily won Sunday’s final to become the event’s youngest champion in 14 years.

In addition, she is the second American champion in Beijing, after Serena Williams in 2004 and 2013.

Gauff’s record in tour finals improved to 8-1, including seven flawless wins in hard-court finals. It was her eighth career triumph overall.

In just thirty-one minutes, Gauff won the first set. She broke the Czech five times, surrendering just five points on her opening serve.

In front of a sell-out crowd of 15,000, Muchova battled with form, committing 24 unintentional mistakes as Gauff easily won in just 76 minutes.

Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini, the gold medallists from the Paris Olympics, had earlier won the women’s doubles final 6-4 6-4 over Chan Hao-Ching and Veronika Kudermetova.
