After visiting all 92 football stadiums across all divisions, the talkSPORT presenter has concluded that Loftus Road is the best stadium.
TalkSPORT anchor Adrian Durham praised Loftus Road, the home field of QPR, as the greatest in the nation after the reporter finished his quest to see every team in the Premier League and EFL.
After traveling to Fleetwood Town stadium Highbury on a Monday night for a League Two match against Morecambe last month, Durham, who began watching football 48 years ago, has now seen 92 football grounds. At this point, the broadcaster has been to the football fields of all four of the leading English league teams.
Durham compiled a list of his top 10 stadiums for talkSPORT, with Loftus Road emerging as the winner. The West London stadium, home of QPR, has hosted football matches since 1917 and can accommodate 18,439. people
The captivating stadium is crammed beneath Shepherd’s Bush residences in the heart of London, with its stands crammed close to the field. Durham went to Loftus Road to witness QPR play Crystal Palace last week, and the game under the lights solidified the team’s top ranking.
He wrote: “It reminded me how much I enjoyed it when I went to see QPR vs. Crystal Palace in the League Cup. It’s in the midst of a London housing estate. It’s close to the pitch and the corners are filled in.
“I really adore it so much. It’s another one where the mood, when they’re doing well, is great. That is the ideal location for a field—in the center of a residential neighborhood. I adore it.
The list was released on X by the official QPR social media account, taking home the award. As the club celebrated taking first place, they wrote, “He knows.”
Durham placed Leeds United in second place, and it should come as no surprise that Elland Road in the top 10. Although the reporter’s affiliation with the Posh undoubtedly contributed to the Weston Homes Stadium’s rise to the podium, Peterborough United finished in third place.
The remaining nine places in the top ten were occupied by AFC Wimbledon, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Fulham, Charlton Athletic, Nottingham Forest, and Harrogate Town.
