In 2022–2023, Remo Freuler spent a full season at Nottingham Forest. Prior to joining the team, he was a regular player in European tournaments at Atalanta.
This season, Freuler is playing in Europe once more with Bologna following his departure from Nottingham Forest. After first joining on loan, his status was extended to full time last season.
Even though Vincenzo Italiano took over after Thiago Motta left and things have been moving slowly, the midfielder’s circumstances appear far more favorable than they were in England.
The international player from Switzerland discussed his relocation to Bologna and his feelings towards it in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
He said that if he had to choose again, he would choose Bologna over Nottingham Forest.
“A wonderful group has been formed. In addition to on the field, in the dining room for a get-together with young and old for an aperitif.
This place taught me the importance of unity, and I’m glad I went back to Italy and decided to settle in Bologna. I would repeat the process. I would definitely do it again.
In addition, Freuler discussed his team’s participation in the Champions League, which begins this week against Liverpool.
“With the Champions League here, for example, I don’t want to stop seeing the joy in the eyes of not only my teammates but above all the fans. We are still that team with that hunger.”
The thirty-two-year-old is glad to have left Nottingham Forest, where he was beginning to fade from view, because he has been a regular at Bologna since joining the team.
