NRL Judiciary Report: Lengthy ban set to rule NAS out of decider
Storm prop Nelson Asofa-Solomona is set to miss the grand final after he was charged with a Grade 3 Careless High Tackle following Friday night’s preliminary final.
Asofa-Solomona caught Roosters prop Lindsay Collins high in the opening tackle of the match and was sent to the sin bin.
As this is his third and subsequent offence of this nature, Asofa-Solomona is facing a four-game ban with an early guilty plea, increasing to five games should he fight the charge and be found guilty at the judiciary.
He would need to front the judiciary and seek a downgrade to a Grade 1 if he is to play in the decider. If the charge is downgraded to a Grade 1 it would carry a $3000 fine.
Fellow Storm forward Eli Katoa will be free to play in the decider after he was charged with Dangerous Contact, his third and subsequent offence of this nature.
Katoa is facing a $3000 fine with an early guilty plea for the incident involving Dom Young in the 59th minute of the match.
Roosters lock Victor Radley has been charged with a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact offence and is facing a $3000 fine with an early guilty plea.
