Texas Tech National Signing Day Rapid Fire

The Inside the Red Raiders staff discusses Texas Tech’s recruiting haul for the 2024 class, which ranks in the top 25 nationally for the second consecutive year.

What’s your overall view of Texas Tech’s 2024 high school recruiting class?

Joe Yeager, Senior Writer: Twelve out of 20 are Texas top 100 players. By Texas Tech standards, that is very goo

Jacob Harris, Staff: The 2024 class could go down as the class that put Texas Tech over the top in the new Big 12. There are studs everywhere.

Kenny Romero, Staff: Lots of potential the OL and DL commits look good and getting a true 5 star guy is obviously a great job by this coaching staff.

Steven Chapman, Photographer: Tech has brought in a very strong recruiting class. Obviously the biggest name on the list is Micah Hudson. There are several others that make this a very strong class.

Jarret Johnson, Publisher: It’s easily the best signing class on paper in the decade I have been covering Texas Tech football exclusively. It has star power, great numbers and potential on both lines, a ringleader in QB Will Hammond and there are no holes at any position group. This really should be the gold standard Texas Tech football should strive for, especially combined with last year’s top 25 class. If head coach Joey McGuire, general manager James Blanchard and Co. keep stacking these classes the program will be nationally relevant again, a top 25 program soon.

Which recruit are you most excited about seeing in a Red Raider uniform?

Yeager: Micah Hudson. Hopefully, he will add a deep dimension to the passing game. But he can’t do it alone.

HarrisMicah Hudson is the obvious answer, right? He has the potential to be a special, special player, something Texas Tech fans haven’t seen in a while.

Romero: It’s got to be Micah Hudson.

Chapman: Micah Hudson of course. I think you will see him play immediately and is already one of the players that will be considered for the top freshmen players in the conference.

Johnson: Micah is the obvious answer, so I will go a different route and give some love to four-star safety Peyton Morgan out of Pflugerville Weiss. He was among the leaders in Texas in interceptions and is a physical player. He could be a gamechanger for Texas Tech’s secondary one day.
