Jamal Musiala played Werder Bremen on Saturday, continuing his excellent season debut. The German offensive midfielder helped Bayern Munich secure a comfortable 5-0 victory by scoring a goal.
This season, Musiala has contributed to five goals for Bayern in all competitions—three goals and two assists. Aside from his efficiency in the closing third, Musiala has shown remarkable versatility as an attacking midfielder.
Musiala’s contract extension is something Bayern Munich is eager to do. In 2026, his current contract expires. Bayern hopes to ensure Musiala’s future and provide him a lucrative contract, while other major European teams are closely monitoring his position. Musiala is the club’s future face, according to the Bavarian club.

Bayern does not have a timeframe in mind for deciding Musiala’s future. The youthful offensive midfield player has already made known to the public what it takes to be a long-term member of Munich. Ideally, Rekordmeister and Musiala would have finished their talks by the time the holidays arrive. They are not going to let the negotiations go into his contract’s last year.
Bayern is negotiating contract extensions for Joshua Kimmich and Leroy Sane in addition to Musiala. The negotiations for new accords are rather complicated because the German internationals are already paid well.
Freund expressed confidence in his ability to prolong Kimmich and Sane’s contracts without burdening the payroll in the Bild interview. Given that Kimmich and Sane have less than a year remaining on their current contracts, the talks with them likely pick up speed in the upcoming weeks.
Sane is willing to remain in Munich, and the team is interested in giving him a longer deal. Kimmich was anticipated to depart in the summer since Bayern was willing to consider bids for him. Both sides, though, are now amenable to a contract extension.
In the meanwhile, Freund acknowledged that Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller’s contract issues are unsettling for Bayern. In the event Die Roten choose not to extend their contracts, both players will be free agents come summer. Neuer and
