Danny Hylton has signed a short-term contract with Charlton Athletic to serve as a player-coach.
The very skilled striker, who has been promoted three times in the EFL, made an appearance for the Addicks in the preseason and scored in the team’s 6-1 victory over Dartford.
Nathan Jones, who handed the 35-year-old 158 appearances at Luton Town, is thrilled to be working with him once more.
“Danny is someone I know very, very well who is a true professional,” the speaker remarked. He’ll play a significant role in both our coaching staff and team. He will live and breathe the club, pushing and educating our players. He will be someone we can count on to bring something unique to the field when it matters. Since then, he has been with us.
The striker scored 58 goals in his first three seasons under Jones’ direction after joining Luton, helping the Hatters win back-to-back promotions.
Hylton left Luton in June 2022 after an incredible six-year tenure, having helped the team reestablish itself in the Championship. He then played two seasons with Northampton Town.
