Roger Federer traveled to Berlin for the 2024 Laver Cup, an event started by the renowned Swiss player Rod Laver od Laverin memory of the former Australian champion.

This tournament hosted the Swiss maestro’s final-ever on-court performance in 2022. Following an exhilarating doubles match with his friend and nemesis of a thousand matches, Rafael Nadal, the maestro announced his retirement.

Roger went to see the two teams’ captains, John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg, in an attempt to recapture the intensity of the court in recent days. The 20-time Slam champion arrived at the Uber Arena to extend a cordial welcome to Borg, McEnroe, and the next competitors. The captains and the Swiss had a brief conversation in a video shared by the Laver Cup account. The captains were wished luck and joked about possibly having some exchanges.

First the meeting with the 11-time Swedish Slam champion, then the visit on the court to the former American legend, amid smiles and a little chat. Federer is (along with Alexander Zverev, who will surpass him this year) the European tennis player with the most participation in the competition (4). Roger achieved three triumphs with Team Europe, to which is added the emotion of that last match on a tennis court played in London. The event will bring together some of the best talents in world tennis and has reached its seventh edition, in which Team Europe, captained by Borg, challenges Team World, led by McEnroe. This year too, the event – scheduled for September 20-22 – promises to be a great show, with the European team,
