Family heartbroken by death of dad in car crash
The heartbroken family of a father who died in a car crash have said his smile would “light up any room”.
Paul Williams died after his Audi Quattro left the road in the early hours of June 22.
While CCTV captured the moment of the crash, in Bronwylfa, Wrexham county, at 03:11 BST the alarm was not raised until more than four hours later at 07:30.
His family said they were devastated by the loss of the 43-year-old, from Penycae, Wrexham county, and that he would be missed by all of them.
“Paul was a real character, full of life, fun, loving, very popular and his smile would light up any room,” they said.
He enjoyed “tinkering” with motorbikes, cars and Volkswagen campervans and was good company, they said, adding: “Paul was taken from us so tragically. No words can describe the pain of losing him.
“We are completely devastated and heartbroken by his sudden loss. He will be truly missed by all of us.”
Ruthin Coroner’s Court heard that when police arrived at the scene they found Mr Williams, trapped in the car.
The alarm was raised after a worker on their way came across the upturned vehicle.
Despite attempts to save him he was confirmed dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination found no significant external injuries, the inquest was told.
A decision on the cause of death was deferred for tests and the inquest was adjourned for a date yet to be fixed.
